reference is built with Eleventy, a static site generator, and deployed on Netlify.

Type

A single-family system: Source Serif 4, a variable serif with real optical sizing, handles every role — headlines, body copy, captions, navigation. Hierarchy comes from size, weight, and letter-spacing, not a second typeface. The one exception is the Annual Letter: each year's headline may use its own one-off display font, chosen per letter — the body copy underneath stays in Source Serif 4 like everywhere else.

Color

The site's palette is a clean white-to-cream page — warm ink for text, white cards for content, and a deep navy for links, averaged from the wordmark mosaic's own ground tone.

Notes

Every entry lives as its own file — a small, dated, addressable thing, the way a real index card would be. (This page will grow as the build does.)
